The Story Behind Lizzie’s Bakery

I started Lizzie’s Bakery in my teeny, tiny apartment in Provo, Utah while my husband was finishing school. I had baked for my own bridal shower and for close friends and family, but it wasn’t until my niece’s birthday party in 2016 that a cake on Pinterest grabbed my attention and reignited my love of baking.

At the time, I was working full-time doing social media for a tech company. But then something happened, which would forever change the course of my life—I got laid off. I was shocked, devastated, and unsure of what I wanted to do next. My very supportive husband told me to relax and enjoy the time, but relax isn’t exactly a word in my vocabulary. 

Baking has always been very therapeutic for me, so it didn’t take too long for a lightbulb to go off in my head, “I’m going to bake cakes and sell them!” I started an Instagram account for my cakes and a few weeks later I had multiple cake orders every week. That’s when I knew Lizzie’s Bakery could be something big.

Get to Know Lizzie

My husband and I moved to Boston in the fall of 2017, and we have loved calling this wonderful city our home! I'm currently a home bakery based in Acton, MA. I have two young boys and they’re tiring, fun, and exciting all at once!

 
Chocolate Cake

My favorite cake flavor is chocolate. I inhale my chocolate cake in seconds and then eat more because it's SO good.

Macarons

I love baking macarons. They are so finicky and so hard to make sometimes, but I love the challenge they bring!

My favorite places I've traveled to are Phuket, Thailand, and Florence, Italy. My dream vacation would be Santorini, Greece!
